Your Daily Wren - First Flight Edition
When I approached the nest this morning I was greeted with an explosion of wren chicks - like four feathered mouse traps rigged to go off in all directions at once. I think the babies, never having flown before, were as startled as I was. They are unharmed, but are now scattered throughout the shed. Even though fledging was clearly imminent, the parental wrens are furious, and loudly expressing their displeasure - like a harsh alarm clock that can’t be silenced.
